Si pasa suficiente tiempo rodeado de ingenieros, maquinistas u oficinas de impresi\u00f3n 3D, oir\u00e1 las palabras precisi\u00f3n<\/em>, precisi\u00f3n<\/em>, y tolerancia<\/em> como si significaran exactamente lo mismo. Alerta de spoiler: no es as\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Utilizar estos t\u00e9rminos indistintamente es una buena forma de equivocarse con el fabricante, pagar de m\u00e1s por las piezas y acabar con un prototipo que no encaja.<\/p>\n

Vamos a desglosar estos tres conceptos utilizando un lenguaje sencillo y la cl\u00e1sica analog\u00eda de la \u201cdiana\u201d para que pueda pedir con confianza piezas que realmente funcionen.<\/p>\n

Principales conclusiones<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Precisi\u00f3n<\/strong> est\u00e1 dando en la diana. (\u00bfLa imprenta hizo el tama\u00f1o que pediste?)<\/li>\n
  • Precisi\u00f3n<\/strong> es golpear el mismo punto exacto una y otra vez. (\u00bfEs la impresora consistente, aunque est\u00e9 ligeramente desviada?)<\/li>\n
  • Tolerancia<\/strong> es el margen de maniobra aceptable (\u00bfa qu\u00e9 distancia de la diana podemos caer y aun as\u00ed ganar el partido?).<\/li>\n
  • La Regla de Oro:<\/strong> No siempre se necesita la m\u00e1xima exactitud y precisi\u00f3n. Especificarlas en exceso no har\u00e1 m\u00e1s que agotar su presupuesto.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \ud83c\udfaf 1. Precisi\u00f3n: dar en la diana<\/h2>\n

    En impresi\u00f3n 3D, precisi\u00f3n<\/strong> se refiere a lo cerca que est\u00e1 la pieza f\u00edsica final de las dimensiones exactas del archivo CAD digital.<\/p>\n

    Imagina que est\u00e1s lanzando dardos. Si apunta a la diana y acierta, es preciso. Si dise\u00f1a un cubo que tenga exactamente 10,0 mm (0,394 pulgadas) de ancho y la impresora 3D produce un cubo que tiene exactamente 10,0 mm (0,394 pulgadas) de ancho, la impresora es perfectamente precisa.<\/p>\n

      Precisi\u00f3n<\/strong> (tambi\u00e9n conocida como repetibilidad) es totalmente diferente de la precisi\u00f3n. La precisi\u00f3n mide la constancia con la que una impresora 3D puede producir la exactamente el mismo resultado<\/em> una y otra vez.<\/p>\n

      Volvamos a nuestra diana: Imagina que lanzas cinco dardos y todos caen en un peque\u00f1o grupo... pero est\u00e1n atascados en la esquina superior izquierda de la diana, lejos de la diana. Est\u00e1s muy preciso<\/strong>, pero terriblemente inexacto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      Si le pide a su impresora 3D un cubo de 10,0 mm (0,394 pulgadas), y \u00e9sta imprime un cubo de 9,8 mm (0,386 pulgadas) cinco veces seguidas, la m\u00e1quina es incre\u00edblemente precisa.<\/p>\n

          La pregunta correcta es: \u201c\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la tolerancia m\u00ednima que requiere esta pieza espec\u00edfica para funcionar?\u201d.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

          Si est\u00e1 imprimiendo una maqueta r\u00e1pida y visual de una nueva taza de caf\u00e9 para ver c\u00f3mo se siente el asa en la mano, no necesita una precisi\u00f3n microsc\u00f3pica. Una impresi\u00f3n FDM descuidada y barata har\u00e1 el trabajo perfectamente.<\/p>\n
